Sunrise in Lauttasaari, December 2009 / Link to Icy Winter Gallery V

In my opinion, the winter is the best landscape photography time in Helsinki. Especially the time when the sea freezes is very scenic 🙂 I photographed the first 37 pictures in this gallery during one week (14.-20.12.). The sea froze during that week and even though the photography locations were very close (within 600 meters), the scenery was quite different every day. If the weather is cold enough (about -15 C or colder), the fog will also rise from the open sea, and the scenery looks even better (see the picture below).
