Kameraseura photography courses in Helsinki

I’m teaching in 1-3 courses per semester in Kameraseura (Helsinki Camera Club). The available courses can be bought from the web shop of Kameraseura. Here are some examples.
Landscape photography (weekend course)
The main emphasis of this landscape photography course will be on the art of landscape photography (planning, i.e. how to be at the right place at the right time, composition, how to use light,…), but will also go through the landscape photographer’s equipment. I have a short recap from my course in March 2011 in my blog.
The structure of my course is following: On Friday evening I start with the presentation about landscape photography equipment (cameras, lenses, tripods and other accessories) and the art of landscape photography (i.e. planning, composition, how to use light, effect of different weather conditions,…). Course participants can also bring two photos with them: one successful landscape photo, and one photo that had failed although the situation was fantastic. I will provide feedback what worked and what could have be improved in those photos in my opinion.
On Saturday we will have field trip to some photogenic location in Helsinki area (e.g. Suomenlinna, Southern tip of Lauttasaari, Vanhankaupunginlahti,…). The destination will be decided on Friday based on the weather forecast. I will continue the lesson about the art of landscape photography on Sunday. We will also review Saturday’s photos, and I will explain shortly how I process my landscape photos in Lightroom and Photoshop.
The basics of Lightroom (weekend course)
In this course you will learn how to use Adobe Lightroom to manage and process your RAW photos (i.e. the Library and Develop modules). You need to have your own laptop with you, as students will process also their own photos during the course.
