Amazing sunset today in Helsinki

The sunset today in Helsinki was amazing, the sky was really on fire! I just hope that I would have had my DSLR with me and that I would have been in southern tip of Lauttasaari or at the top Hotel Torni… So these photos are taken with compact camera (Panasonic LX3) on my way to home. View from Hotel Torni to the northwest

Here are few sunset photos from the roof terrace of Hotel Torni in Helsinki. The roof terrace is in the 14th floor and offers excellent views to the Helsinki city center. I took these photos during two evenings this week. Can landscape photography be any more pleasant? Sitting in terrace, enjoying excellent view, drinks and refreshing breeze… 🙂

This was the eight year when I was photographing the Helsinki Samba Carnaval (the first year was 2003). This year Helsinki Samba Carnaval celebrated it´s 20th anniversary, and all seven samba schools created one big parade together. This was also the second year when I was taking photos for the The Association of Finnish Samba Schools (SSKL), and some of my photos are already used as press photos. Being the official photographer had the benefit that I could move freely in the parade area. I had not any more need to fight about space with other photographers in the best spots 😉
